80's Balearic Afro pop classic!
Necessary first-ever vinyl reissue of Back to Scales To-Night (1980), Wally Badarou’s pivotal, influential debut album, recorded circa some of his most famous work for M’s Pop Muzik and on records by Grace Jones, Herbie Hancock. He would go on to record keyboard licks and and writing for everyone from Joe Cocker to Black Uluru and Level 42, and be sampled by Massive Attack and tonnes more, but Back to Scales To-Night brings it right down to root Badarou with fecund blend of lilting reggae, driving disco and romantic soul lifted by his sensitivity toward African rhythms and signature, blooming rich harmonic arrangements. Original copies now fetch a pretty 2nd hand penny. Run cop it!
