Description
One of the leading groups of belpop in the 80s was undoubtedly Red Zebra.
The band fronted by singer Peter Slabbynck took part in Humo's Rock Rally in 1980 and immediately won the finals. Not much later they released their debut single, the classic 'I can't live in a living room'. This was followed in 1981 with the release of their first mini album 'Bastogne' produced by the equally legendary Jean-Marie Aerts. The album contained gems such as 'The art of conversation', 'shadow of a doubt' and the instrumental title track. It was an immediate hit and a highlight in their early career. The band enjoyed a great live reputation until their split in 1986 and would play the support act for illustrious bands like The Undertones, The Sound, Simple Minds, Killing Joke and The Sisters of Mercy.
It is no coincidence that this release coincides with the week of the Belgian music (and it is a colored (transparent blue) and numbered pressing). A tribute to one of the most influential bands from our rich belpop history.
