Wicked funky jazz from the Black Jazz label's keyboard great! Tip!
First released in 1973 and now reissued via Real Gone Music, ‘Revelation’ was the fourth album from jazz keyboardist Doug Carn, and advertised the contributions of his wife Jean Carn who provided breathy, magical vocals. Featuring interpretations of McCoy Tyner's ‘Contemplation’, John Coltrane's ‘Naima’ and René McClean's ‘Jihad’, and with a backing band that included trumpeter Olu Dara, it was arguably the pinnacle of the Carns’ vision for music.
Wicked funky jazz from the Black Jazz label's keyboard great, featuring strident vocals from Doug's wife Jean Carn, predating her Philly disco era! A timeless classic.
