Tip! Sought after reissue by Jamaican trombonist & pivotal figure in the Ska-Jazz / Reggae scene!
Taught by fellow reggae legend Don Drummond, Rico Rodriguez recorded with many of the top reggae producers (inc some crucial Coxsone and Prince Bustertracks).
He played a part in the 70s ska revival and even released Man From Warieka on Blue Note in 1977. In 1978 a dub version of Warieka was mysteriously released on white label. Once collectors got a whiff, it went on to became a holy grail of reggae-jazz records, fetching $400 plus. This is the first official label repress of the elusive record (time to upgrade that white label), and it sounds incredible on 180g vinyl no less. The dub is not overpowering. It hits that sweet spot, letting the instrumentation breathe and flow. 9 tracks in all in old school Island promo sleeve..
