Established in 2014, Camisole Records makes for a rather atypical record label in today’s musical landscape. With a flight plan similar to the likes of Antinote, Music From Memory and Mind Records, the Parisian imprint’s been mixing reissues of little-known oddities from the French underground – be it punk, new wave, synthpop; mostly spanning the 70s-80s continuum – with original material from contemporary artists, steadily forging a reputation as a trustable purveyor of timeless, mind-expanding electronics, as is the case with Shelter‘s forthcoming ‘Chipo Sounds‘ EP.

Due out for release at the end of the month, the four-tracker exudes a supremely soothing blend of Sakura-scented, Easternmost flavours and zen-like meditative stasis, disclosing its lush and vibrant palette of sound colours on a drip-tease flex. Streaming over our channels today, the opening cut ‘Mecanic Chipo‘ is the sturdiest of this origamic package – driven by muscular gongs and cast-iron percussions as woozy bamboo flutes and whistling wind chimes blow a delicate zephyr across dense-flowered synthetic foliages and organic hydroponics. A thing of beauty.
